Can't Help, but Cry!

I have been watching these movie marathon and it is a series at the Hallmark channel from 11:00 am; and it is now 6:09 in the evening. I can not help but cry. These movies are for General Patronage and I am loving it. There would be six movies and I am done watching the two; I am watching the third one, two more to go! I am glad Matt is busy with job search and my son playing and coloring and I have time for myself while blogging here and there a little bit. We are about to go and buy a scanner and grocery shopping. We would probably dine out tonight since I have no time to cook. Not sure yet where. I'll be back blogging later. The movies titles are : Love Comes Softly, Loves Abiding Joy, Love's Unending Legacy, Love's Unfolding Dream, Love's Long Journey and oh, I forgot the other one...will try to remember it...hehehe :-)! Mother My Guiding Light

Amy of Amiable Amy tagged me with this wonderful tag, a tribute to mothers. Thanks, dear for this one. I am glad I can finally write something about my mother.

I love my mother even though I didn't grow up in her care until I turned seven. My grandparents took care of me when I was still a baby because my mother suffered from what they call “ Baby Blue”. She couldn't take care of me.

Here is my beloved mother. Late last year she had a mild stroke due to her uncontrollable high blood pressure. I thanked God and her doctor for saving her life. I think it was a miracle that she didn't get any complications considering she lives most of her life with high blood pressure. She is better now except occasionally she feels weak and tired due to the side effects of the medicine she is taking.

You bet, I miss her so much wishing I was there when she was hospitalized and now that she is recovering. I talk to her and my father on the phone because I feel much better that using the internet. She will be turning 68 this May. I really admire my mother for her devotion to my father and us. Her love, sacrifice and support is unbelievable.What I am today is because of her. I love you, mother!

My only wished for her and my father is for them to live a longer life so they can come here stay with us for as long as they wanted to. But I doubt that they will stay longer than three months.

3. Blot it out: Blotting your pizza with a paper towel can save you several grams of fat and as many as 150 calories per slice. This may not seem like much, but if you did this once a week for a year, you would lose roughly two pounds.
4. Go for the gum: According to a 2007 Scottish study presented at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Obesity Society, chewing gum for 15 minutes after meals can promote weight loss. As the researchers explained, the act of chewing reduces overall calorie consumption and minimizes cravings.
5. Be fidgety: In a 2005 Mayo Clinic study, researchers found that overweight people tend to sit, while lean ones tend to be restless. In fact, those who have trouble sitting still can burn an extra 350 calories a day—about three pounds every month.

Getting Ready for a Bike Ride

Jacob was raking the leaves here with Daddy; the one thing he enjoyed doing outdoor on winter time.

The best job/profession I have ever had is being a mother. It is priceless and very rewarding. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Spending time with my son playing, caring and taking care of his needs are the best times of my life. I have difficulty giving birth but seeing him is worth a sacrifice. Reasons Why We Need to Break Bottled Water Addiction

After I got a kidney transplant, my doctor and nurse told me to be very careful with what I put in my mouth and that includes water, foods and raw foods. I particularly paid attention with water, so I started drinking bottled water only. We even bought water dispenser to be sure that the water I am drinking is safe. Certain groups, like Think Outside the Bottle, say our country needs to break its bottled water addiction. Here, six reasons why you should kick the plastic habit.

1. Water and oil do mix. Although these two liquids may not get along in the kitchen, oil powers the bottled water industry. The Earth Policy Institute estimates that it takes up to 1.5 million barrels of oil to power the plants that make the plastic for the bottles-that's enough to power 100,000 cars for a year.

2. Natural spring water? The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) estimates that as much as 25 percent of bottled water comes from municipal sources, a.k.a. tap water. Be sure to check the label and cap of the bottle. If it says "from a community water system" or "from a municipal source," it originates from tap. What's more, the water doesn't always come from the branded source. 3. Bottled water doesn't go green. The interesting paradox that exists in bottle water consumption is the image it portrays as being healthy and clean, but it is anything but good for the environment.

5. There's something in the water. The water you're drinking may not be as clean as you think it is. In 2007, the FDA recalled Jermuk bottled water sold in California after finding trace amounts of arsenic, a naturally occurring chemical that can be toxic at very high levels.

6. Support for the tap. Contrary to popular opinion, tap water isn't necessarily healthier than bottled water. If taste is the issue, opt for home filters. Depending on your needs, you can choose to install one on your refrigerator or on your faucet or you can simply store a pitcher of filtered water in the fridge. It was a dream come true for me to see the Salt Lake Temple even though it was very cold that time, I didn't mind it! It was so pretty standing majestically in the heart of Salt Lake City!

We have a great time last year when we went to Salt Lake City for a vacation/job interview. We got to see the Salt Lake Temple, Provo Temple, the famous BYU as well as the Great Salt Lake Valley. I was glad to see an old friend there, too!

Got Allergy

I didn't know what happened, but when I woke up this morning I have a terrible headache and my nose was running. I feel like I am suffering from sinusitis. I still have it. Then, when hubby phoned me today from work, I told him what I was feeling, he said I must be having an allergy. Weird because the last time I remembered having allergy was when Jacob was 6 months old and it was back in Texas. Anyway, while I am typing this, my nose is running again. Oh well, got to go downstair now and start preparing dinner.

Step Stools, Jake's Helper!

My son's four step stools are his helper in finding food, brushing his teeth and washing his hand and also in reaching for the things he is not supposed to touch and put his hands on.

This morning when I woke up, I have found my son seating in the couch watching T.V. and eating crackers. T'was his breakfast with a glass of milk. Then, I went straightway to the kitchen and found two step stools. I didn't ask him because I figured out he used them in finding foods. He is really getting independent. My poor little man; he didn't want to bother me, so he went ahead and find something to eat. Well, crackers are not enough for breakfast, so I asked him if he is still hungry and he said "no". After half an hour, he asked for hot cereal, so I made him some and also gave him apple sauce and juice. Isn't step stools a big help or what?

My Son is Sweet!

Matt is home today and when he is off from work, he takes and picks Jake at school bus stop. I do the waking and dressing up. When Jake gets back from school today, he just ran towards me, gave me a hug and kiss saying he missed and love me! Oh, how sweet my son is :-), and that's enough to take my tiredness away from doing shores and blogging, as well!

Done with the Bills!

At last, I am done paying bills *whew*. For some people who are not paying their bills themselves, they will think it is easy. But not for me at least. Aside from writing payments through checks, we still need to balance the checks; and that is the hard part. What a relieve for hubby not having to deal with it again. Yup, before I was thinking about why he kept complaining a lot about it. Now I know why :-)! It gives me headache, too!
